President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to once again, reignite the beacon of ethics in the Maldives. He made the statement in his address to the nation given on the occasion on this year’s National Day.

In his address, the President said that in conjecture with enriching Islamic values in the country, the age-old customs of Maldivians must also be revitalized. He spoke, at length, on the exemplary values demonstrated by the Maldivian over the years, adding that this deeply enriched value system was seen in the past years.

He said that such value systems were intrinsic to revitalizing our national identity.

“I wish to see a Maldivian nation that rises at dawn. I wish to see a Maldivian nation where children are engrossed in the study of Quran in the morning and dusk. I wish to see the prayer congregations swell for daily prayers. I wish that all Maldivians would seek the limitless bounty and blessings of the prayers [observed in congregation]. And, I wish to bring back the respect we paid to our mosques,”

The President urged all to begin implementing these changes starting individually and expanding it to their families and dear ones.

In his address President Dr Muizzu reminded the nation of the immense responsibility towards protecting the younger generations from external threats, that are antithetical to Maldivian values and Islam. This, he said, was a responsibility of every parent, every teacher and every citizen, urging all to take lead in addressing the issue.

The President concluded his address by stressing on the importance of unity in preserving the nation.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu affirmed that the ancestors of the Maldives have consistently defended the country in every aspect, and this legacy is reflected in the nation's heritage. He made these remarks during the National Day function held at Dharubaaruge, Wednesday.

The President emphasised that the Maldives has always been a nation of people who stood firm against external threats. He highlighted how the Maldivians successfully resisted Portuguese military efforts to impose control and enslavement, ultimately defeating the invading forces and reaffirming the country's independence.

The President asserted that Maldivians have consistently championed freedom and that this principle underpins his entire policy framework. He explained that this dedication to freedom accounts for the absence of foreign military forces in the country. To support this commitment, he noted that advanced technology is being utilised to protect the nation's territory and enhance awareness through a newly implemented nationalist system.

Speaking on the occasion, the President highlighted that the key to the Maldives' enduring protection of its marine resources lies in their vital importance to the nation’s survival. He emphasised the need to cultivate dedicated and industrious generations to ensure continued loyalty and service to the country.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has highlighted that a nation’s most precious capital is its mother tongue, which serves as the intermediary for creating a national culture. He made these remarks during the official function commemorating this year’s National Day.

Speaking at a function held at Dharubaaruge today, the President stressed the importance of the mother tongue. He described it as a vital political force and a necessary weapon for a nation’s survival. He also mentioned that having a mother tongue was one of the secrets behind the Maldivian people’s ability to unfurl their proud independent flag.

On this occasion, the President urged all citizens to make this year’s National Day a time to restart, prioritising their local language. He emphasised that interactions with the mother tongue in creating national cultures must also conform to the tenets of Islam.

In this context, the President stated that the essence of patriotism is sacred religion. He expressed the aim to strengthen religious practices and pave the way forward. He noted that the Zakat House was established to strengthen the Zakat system.

The President also urged people to relay only good words while communicating and to refrain from speaking if they have nothing good to say.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said that the state reserve will improve by November. He made the remarks during the latest rally held by the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC).

Taking the podium at the rally, President Muizzu stated that the party made sure to inform the public of the status of the country’s economy before assuming office and even after assuming office. He reiterated that the country’s economy deteriorated due to the previous government’s decision to print large amounts of money and take loans at high interest rates. He also added that the previous government failed to economize spending during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Noting that the country’s economy has fallen into a bottomless pit, President Muizzu stated that his administration is working tirelessly to improve the economy without printing more money. He added that experienced economists, the World Bank and even the International Monetary Fund (IMF) notes the importance of halting the printing of money to improve and strengthen the Maldivian economy.

Highlighting that the state has debts to pay to various parties, the President noted the efforts being made by the state to improve the country's reserve by November and make the overdue payments. He repeatedly assured the public that the state reserve will start improving by November. The President also assured that his administration will always choose what is the most beneficial to the country and its people.

President Dr Muizzu launched the initial phase of the project, marking the commencement of the relocation works of the seaplane terminal, initiating the development of the domestic terminal to serve 2,000 passengers per hour, improving cargo facilities, relocating the fuel storage facility out of Funadhoo Island, and repurposing the island to develop as an international financial hub. Furthermore, the President emphasised the future development prospects of connecting Funadhoo, Malé, and Hulhulé via a bridge and Hulhulé and Hulhumalé to the seaplane terminal.

ޞިއްޙީ ދާއިރާގެ ސިޔާސަތުތަކުގެ ތެރެއިން ދަރިމައިވުމުގެ ޞިއްޙަތާއި ގުޅުންހުރި މައްސަލަތަކަށާއި ޖިންސީ ގުޅުމުން އަރާ ބަލިތަކަށް ފަރުވާދޭނެ ޒަމާނީ ފެންވަރުގެ ޚާއްޞަ ކްލިނިކްތަކެއް ހުރިހާ ހޮސްޕިޓަލެއްގައި ޤާއިމުކުރުން.

އަލަށް ފެށޭ ސޯޝަލް ހައުސިންގ ސްކީމްތަކުގައި، ޒުވާން ޢާއިލާތަކަށް ޚާއްޞަކުރެވިގެން، ދެ ކޮޓަރީގެ 3,000 އެޕާރޓްމަންޓް ހިމެނުން.

ސިޓީތަކުގައި ޒަމާނީ ލައިބްރަރީތަކެއް ޤާއިމުކޮށް، އުނގެނުމާއި ދިރާސާކުރުމުގެ ރޫޙު ޒުވާން ޖީލުތަކުގައި އަށަގެންނެވުން.

ބިދޭސީން ގިނައިން ހަރަކާތްތެރިވަމުންދާ ސިނާއަތްތަކުގައި ދިވެހި ޒުވާނުން އިތުރަށް ފައިތިލަ ސާބިތުކުރަން މަގުފަހިކޮށްދިނުމަށްޓަކައި، ކުދި އަދި މެދު ފަންތީގެ ވިޔަފާރިތައް އަލަށް ޤާއިމުކުރުމަށް، ރަހުނަކާނުލާ ވިޔަފާރި ފެށުމަށް އިންކިއުބޭޓަރ ޚިދުމަތާއި، ދާއިރާގެ މާހިރުންގެ މެންޓޯރޝިޕް ލިބޭނެގޮތަށް ޤާއިމުކުރެވޭ، 500 މިލިއަން ރުފިޔާގެ ލޯނު ސްކީމެއް ތަޢާރަފުކުރުން.

ކޮޕީރައިޓް ޤާނޫނަށް ގެންނަންޖެހޭ އިޞްލާޙުތަކާއި އެޤާނޫނު ތަންފީޒުކުރުން ހަރުދަނާކުރުމުގެ ތެރެއިން، ދިވެހި އުފެއްދުންތެރިންނާއި ހުނަރުވެރިންގެ ފިކުރީ މުދާ ހިމާޔަތްކުރުން.

ކުޅިވަރާއި ކަސްރަތުގެ ފަންނީ ހުނަރުވެރިކަން ރާއްޖޭގައި ފުޅާކުރުމަށްޓަކައި، އެ ދާއިރާތަކުން ޒުވާނުން ތަމްރީނާއި ތަޢުލީމު ޙާޞިލުކޮށް، ރަނގަޅު އާމްދަނީއެއް ހޯދުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު ތަނަވަސް ކުރުން.

ރޯމަހާއި މަހުން އުފައްދާ އެކި ބާވަތްތައް ވިއްކޭނެ ޚާއްޞަ އޮންލައިން ޕްލެޓްފޯމެއް، އަންހެން އަދި ޒުވާން ވިޔަފާރިވެރިންގެ ފައިދާއަށްޓަކައި، ޤާއިމުކުރުން.
